Congratulations to our 2021 Robert M. Oberholser Scholarship recipient, Andrew Bishop!

       2021 BCREA Scholarship Recipient

Andrew is currently a member of the Cinnaminson High School Class of 2021. He will matriculate at Montclair State University in September and plans to become a History/Social Studies teacher. He has begun his preparation by immersing himself in many activities at Cinnaminson High School as well as in the surrounding community.

Andrew has held leadership positions in The National Honor Society and Student Council. He has participated in The Global Economics Forum, The International Student Summit and Debate Club. He is a member of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Is also the Class Historian.

Andrew always has time for volunteering and has done so with several local church activities, Relay for Life, and has served Cinnaminson Project Graduation for four years as well as working three part-time jobs. He has a 94.4 GPA and is ranked 55 out of 219 students in his class.

Andrew was a member of the football team and the track team at CHS. In the words of one of Andrew’s teachers, “Andrew has expressed to me an interest in pursuing a career in History Education. I firmly believe that Andrew would make an amazing teacher. His future students would undoubtedly appreciate his combination of academic fervor and his warmth of spirit. Though he may be fierce on the field and the track, Andrew shows empathy, maturity, and genuine consideration for others in the classroom and in his daily life.”

Andrew was able to attend the Zoom Spring Luncheon where he was introduced to our members. The BCREA Oberholser Scholarship is open to any Burlington County High School graduating senior who was accepted at a four-year New Jersey college and majoring in the field of education. The value of this scholarship is $2500.

BCREA also offers the Harriet DiLeonardo Scholarship to a Burlington County Senior attending a two-year college in the educational field. This year, there was no eligible candidate, so this scholarship was not awarded.

We would like to thank the Reading Panel who read the applications and selected our deserving winner, and we’d like to welcome the new Reading Panel members who volunteered at the Spring Luncheon.

If you would like to contribute to the BCREA Scholarship, all you need to do is go to the scholarship tab on this website and then click donations for scholarships.

We would like to thank you in advance for your support for these two scholarships which will help our next generation of teachers.
